Nine Rolls
About This Spot
Stepping into Nine Rolls on Duke Street is like slipping into a little pocket of Brighton where time slows just enough to savor something truly satisfying. The space, while cozy and often bustling with a steady stream of locals and visitors alike, buzzes with a quiet energy—conversations hum softly beneath the sounds of fresh pastries being prepared. It’s a spot where the pace of the city outside softens; you might find yourself lingering over a well-crafted croque or a perfectly baked sausage roll, caught in the warmth of an honest, homey atmosphere.
The charm here lies in its comforting simplicity and the care woven into each offering. There’s an unpretentious joy in watching familiar classics transformed — flaky sausage rolls with distinctive fillings, crisp yet tender brunch bap sandwiches, and rustic pastries that call to mind the kind of food made with hands that know their craft. Whether you're sheltering from a rainy Brighton afternoon or grabbing a bite to fuel a day of wandering, Nine Rolls invites you to pause with something both hearty and thoughtfully simple.
It’s a place where the hum of the kitchen blends with genuine, attentive service, even when the shop is busy and space tight, creating a sense of a shared moment — one that’s about more than just filling up. You leave feeling quietly pleased, carrying with you a reminder that sometimes the best local spots are those that feel just a little like a secret worth discovering again and again.

Great sausage rolls but they are quite expensive, however a nice treat once in a while! The place is also a bit cramped when waiting for food to be cooked

THE best sausage rolls in the lanes… potentially Brighton. The Chorizo one is especially good, close second is the mustard. Just insane. The visit was made all the better by Emily and Charlie’s service. Top tier

So good. Just _so_ good. Absolutely insane. If you're in Brighton for even just one day, this would be the place to go if you're in the mood for a sandwich-style lunch. Honestly so good. We were only in Brighton a few days and there is a super selection of lunch places there, but this was so good that we went back a second time. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Great price and great quality! I'm a big fan of a Croque and this Croque Shop Croqued hard. I had the Regular Croque Monsieur, and it was really good, only £5.25. Also I thought the staff worked really hard, there was only one staff member in the shop at the time and it was a busy day but she still managed to prepare my lunch from scratch quickly and to a good standard. Definitely recommend for a quick pit stop or a cheap lunch, also has a large selection of sausages rolls that I will be going back to try out

Lovely café. Great selection of meat free and meat pastries. I chose the caramelised onion sausage roll today.

A pleasant little take away shop selling mostly freshly made sausage rolls, pasties, toasties, and other treats. Perfect if you want a quick filling morsel that is fast, cheap, and delicious! There are some outside tables available if you need to sit...hopefully its a nice day! £3/$4 Per sausage roll...I opted for the Mustard Sausage Roll, which was very generous with rich, meaty, fatty pork sausage and lots of mustard cooked in. The Vegetarian Roll was also a big win for my wife.
